Germany

Sustainability data your German company can defend.

In Germany the ask arrives in more than one way: a customer or parent company wants your emissions and policies, your own entity may fall under CSRD and ESRS reporting, or you want a first carbon number to work from. We help you handle whichever one you are facing, without having to become a sustainability expert.

CSRD and ESRS

Value-chain data requests

Direct reporting scope

In Germany, the rules and the requests move together.

German companies meet CSRD and ESRS from two sides. Some report directly; many more get pulled in when a customer or parent company that reports asks them for data. Who is in scope and when changed in 2026, so it is worth checking what applies to your entity before treating any deadline as settled.

01

CSRD and ESRS shape customer requests

EU sustainability reporting requirements shape the data customers and groups ask German companies to provide, especially around emissions, value-chain impacts, policies, and targets.

02

2026 EU amendments changed scope and timing

Directive (EU) 2026/470 amended corporate sustainability reporting and due-diligence requirements, including changes to scope and timing. Check entity scope before making legal claims.

03

Supplier requests flow down

German suppliers can receive Scope 1, 2, and 3 data requests from CSRD-covered customers even when they are not direct reporters.

Questions German companies ask

Does CSRD apply directly to every German company?

No. Direct scope depends on entity facts and EU and national implementation. Many suppliers still receive value-chain data requests from customers that are in scope.

What data do German suppliers usually need?

They usually need electricity and fuel records, entity boundaries, procurement categories, transport data, policies, targets, and the customer wording that references CSRD, ESRS, CDP, or EcoVadis.

Can Keslio help if we're building a program, not just answering one request?

Yes. Alongside one-off answers, we help German companies set a strategy, build a reporting process they can repeat each year, and run it as a fractional part of your team, so the next request is routine.

Should we start with the calculator or send you the request?

If a deadline or portal wording is already in front of you, send us the request. If you just want a first number, start with the Germany calculator.
